My original mat was a rubber like material with no Jute backing. This mat looks identical to my original but with the Jute backing the trunk area is much quieter. Less sheet metal booming an exhaust noise. Good if you are not going to Dynamat the trunk area. Another benefit is softer mat to store things like a T-top or two.
